Meet Kim Zimmerman

I was taught to be responsible and follow rules, so I did that…until I found art. Being a dreamer, non-conformist, and a life-long lover of everything creative, I create with no rules.  I have worked with many mediums, but metal work has remained a passion for years.  My jewelry is an eclectic mix of the things I love, rocks, minerals, gemstones, wood, industrial closures, handmade chains, silver, gold and random treasures I find. I revel in the juxtaposition of items that others feel shouldn’t go together.  I love to pair my business casual, cashmere turtleneck sweater with an oversized industrial chain, and a big-ass-rock charm. Yes, “big-ass-rock” is a technical term. Part business, part hippie, part rock-n-roll—NO RULES!  I set out to create designs that are dynamic and versatile, jewelry that can be in worn multiple ways and evolve with you.  While many of the essential pieces of my jewelry stay tried and true, I insist on dropping exclusive collections, full of one-of-a-kind designs that can be mixed and matched with existing pieces.  I am inspired everyday by nature, humanity, and an overall desire to show that imperfection is life. Imperfection is beautiful.  My pieces are meant to showcase the irregularities left during the creation process. No two pieces are exactly the same.  I don’t want anyone to wonder if my jewelry was made in a factory somewhere. Every piece is made by hand in my workshop. I hope you love my designs as much as I loved making them.
